TIME TO TAKE IT ON THE ROAD
JAGUAR CLASSIC THIS WEEKEND: This weekend is our first time taking this production on the road. Schedule for the day is as follows:
Rehearsals for the Week of 01 – 04 October: As stated in previous newsletters sent out, all sections will rehearse on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This is the week we were able to secure our drill writer to come in to work with the students on bodywork for the show. Please note all attendance at all rehearsals are mandatory. Emergency cases are expected (sicknesses, etc.). If a child has an appointment, please notify me in advance of this so I can plan accordingly. After the week of 1 – 5 October, I do not anticipate any changes to the rehearsal schedule that was given to you in May/June.
Prop and Front Ensemble Set-Up: I am looking to do a dry run of front ensemble set-up for our performances with parents who are wanting to be involved with the movement/set-up of these things at our competitions/games. This will occur on Thursday, 4 October 2018 at 5:30 to practice timing. We need approximately 8 parents to help with front ensemble equipment, 4-6 for front slide props, and 18 for the back drops, if possible. I am working on a viable solution to our ramp issue. Policies: There are precise policies that have been put in place for all membership of the band (eating in uniform, attendance, etc.) that are all in the band handbook. I ask that you re-visit this and re-read these. I have seen and discussed with folks about a variety of infractions that have occurred over the past couple weeks. In an attempt to not embarrass anyone, I have pulled folks aside and discussed these infractions. I will be upholding these policies. These policies are there for good reason. Please do your due diligence to ensure you understand these policies. If you have any questions in regard of the policies, please let me know. I will gladly talk you through them.
Garments under the Uniform: Please draw your attention to page 3 of the band handbook in regards to items required for wear with the band uniform. Apparently, there is some confusion. It needs to be plain black, compression style shirt and underwear (biker short style) with black socks. I am seeing variations on a theme, and that is not ok. These items can be found at a variety of stores (Wal-Mart, Target, Academy, etc.) and does not need to be brand specific. It does need to emulate the Under Armour style of shirt/undergarments, though.
Back Drop Props/Front Ensemble Equipment: There are a few back drops that need some wheel replacements. If anyone is willing to take a look at these, we would greatly be appreciative. Also, many of these need to have tires blown up. If anyone has time, we could use some assistance getting these things back into shape for this weekend.

Thursday (10/04/2018) Class Rehearsals. After School Rehearsal (All Personnel) 3-6 p.m. Prop/Front Ensemble Set-Up class with parents/volunteers 5:30 p.m.; Clinic with Mr. Pendergrass
Friday (10/05/2018) Class Rehearsals. 4th period POWER.
Saturday (10/06/2018) Contest @ Forestview HS
Sunday (10/07/2018) Eat, Sleep, Practice (use this time to ensure all dots are notated in your dot book and measures are numbered in your music)
